Sunnyside Campground is located in the heart of one of Canada's most popular tourist areas.

The "Rideau Corridor" stretching from the city of Kingston, to the Nation's Capital at Ottawa is home to the Rideau Canal - a system of interlocking lakes and rivers designated by UNESCO as a "World Heritage Site" This inland waterway provides outdoor recreation opportunities for all visitors.

Located on the south shore of "Upper Rideau Lake" 8Km outside the village of Westport, Sunnyside is an ideal access point to explore this historical landmark, and all it's natural surroundings.


In addition to boating, fishing, and swimming, the campground facilities include: two beach areas, horseshoe pits, a volley ball court, basketball pad, two children's play grounds, and a covered pavillion for special events.

HIKING
Two of the most popular hiking trails in Ontario have access points within 6-7 Km from Sunnyside!

The RIDEAU TRAIL running from Kinston to Ottawa is accessible at either end of the Upper Rideau Lake, and complete trail information is available on THE WEB SITE HERE

The CATARAQUI TRAIL (Part of the Trans Canada Trail) is located on the former Canadian National Railway line running from Smith Falls to Strathcona. It can be used by hikers, bicyclists, horseback riders, cross-country skiers and snowmobilers. For more information visit THE WEB SITE HERE

One of the best half day hikes in Ontario is the trail to ROCK DUNDER! - The trailhead can be found outside the village of Morton on Hwy #15. FOLEY MOUNTAIN CONSERVATION AREA Last but not least - a fabulous resource overlooking the village of Westport. But, there are a number of VERY SPECIAL EVENTS hosted by the village that attract tourists throughout the year.
